Daniel Dale Barnes, 47 of Duarte, CA, formerly of Sioux City, Iowa, died Monday, March 24, 1997, at his residence following a brief illness.

Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Good Shepherd Cemetery in Huntington Beach, CA. Arrangements are under the direction of the Douglas and Zook Funeral Home in Monrovia, CA.

Mr. Barnes was born December 8, 1949 in Sioux City.  He attended Sioux City schools and served in the U.S. Air Force.  He was a design engineer and had llived in California for more than 25 years.

Survisors include his wife, Valerie Barnes; a daughter Shannon Marie Stuart of Canyon Lake, CA, a son, James Francis Barnes of Quail Valley, CA.; his mother, Celesta Sitzman Barnes of Huntington Beach; two brothers Dean Virgil Barnes of Mission Viejo, CA and Ron Barnes of Philadelphia; two sisters, Roxann Keiter of Alpine, CA and LeeAnn Saldate Canyon Lake, and two granddaughters, Danielle and Lindsay Stuart.
