Dave Burke

David James Burke, 64, of Minneapolis, Minn., formerly of Sioux City, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.

Funeral services are pending.

David was born in Waterloo, Iowa. He was a graduate of Bishop Heelan High School and attended Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

He worked with the Florida Racing Commission and was also a taxi driver in Florida for a number of years before moving to Minneapolis in 1992. While living in Minneapolis, David was employed by Mystic Lake Casino and was a taxi driver.

Survivors include his mother, Isabelle Ann Burke, of Sioux City; seven sisters and brothers, Patricia Ann Hadfield and her husband, James, of Eden Prairie, Minn., Suzan Ellen Boden, and her husband Steven, of Sioux City, Kathryn Ann Sanda, and her husband, Mark, of Chaska, Minn., John Christopher Burke and his wife Lisa, of Lafayette, Colo., Joseph P. Burke and his wife Margaret of West Salem, Wis., Gregory Thomas Burke and his wife Tina, of San Diego, Calif., and Jeffrey Robert Burke and his wife Deanna, of Naperville, Ill.; and 18 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Harmon Joseph Buckley and Bridget Ellen Buckley; his uncle Robert Harmon Buckley; and his paternal grandmother, Ida Rose Burke.
