Miss Colleen M. O'Connor, 23, 2001 Ross St., a lifelong Sioux Cityan, died Monday (September 23, 1973) at a Sioux City hospital after an illness of several months.

Funeral services will be at noon Wednesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church with the Rev. Denis  Hall officiating.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery under direction of the Larkin Northside Funeral Home.

Donald Pearson, James Cosgrove, Edward Mahan, Wayne Merrigan, Merle Burmester and Russell Hansen will be active pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers will include Tony Glass, William O;Connor, James Jones, John Chicoine, James Lewis, Vernon Peterson, David Hitt and Charles Hartigan. 

A Christian wake service will be held at 8 p.m. today (September 23, 1973) at the funeral home.

Miss O'Connor was born here July 8, 1950.  She attended St. Boniface School and was graduated from Heelan High School.  She studied at Briar Cliff College for one year before going to the University of South Dakota at Vermillion where she received her bachelor of fine arts degree last May.  She was a member of the Women's Chorus and the USD Choir, both in Vermillion.  She was a music major in piano and voice.

She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.

Survivors include her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold O'Connor of Sioux City.

Concert to Honor Late Student

The University of South Dakota choir will dedicate its concert at 4 o'clock this afternoon in Slagle Auditorium to Miss Colleen O'Connor, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold O'Connor, 2001 Ross St.

Miss O'Connor, a music major in piano and voice at the university, was graduated last May with a B.F.A. degree.  She died September 4, a victim of melanoma.  She was a 1968 graduate of Heelan High School in Sioux City.
