Rick R. Authier, 47, of Sioux City died unexpectedly Thursday, October 23, 1997 at his residence.  

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Robert Schimmer officiating.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. October 26 with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. and a scriptural wake service at 7 p.m. at the Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Mr. Authier was born January 11, 1950 in Sioux City.  He graduated from Heelan High School in 1968.

He worked in the water department for the city of Sioux City for 21 years.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Survivors include a son, Daniel Authier; a daughter, Natalie Authier, both of Sioux City; his mother, Helen Authier of Sioux City; a brother, Gary Authier of Sioux City; three sisters, Linda and her husband, Jerry Zortman of Johnston, IA, Mary Churchwell of Grants Pass, OR, and Sue and her husband, Johnnie Newton of Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Authier.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Zortman, Rick Sturgis, Kenny South, Johnnie Newton, Cory Cleveland and Craig Clark.
